We are excited to announce that July 2013's Starting with Sunday Day Planner Pages
are up over at All the Saint's books. Single monthly downloads will be available through the rest of 2013. Then in the fall we will be releasing the printed version of Starting with Sunday
for purchase for the 2014 year, just in time for Christmas!
This is the non-academic
version of our Holy Simplicity planner
. It follows the same Catholic calendar and has a similar layout. The Saints are listed on the monthly calendar along with major feasts and the Sunday's of the year. This will match up perfectly with the Holy Simplicity Planner
. It fits great in a purse or bag so its easily to take along to the store or other appointments. We are still working out the print details but we hope to have a plastic coil bound version and a 3-hole punch version (which will fit most daily planners that take refills) for the 2014 year. This months feature organizational page is for monthly budgeting, we will continue to add new pages as the months go along and when the printed version is released it will contain ALL those pages in one nifty little package! To download June and July's pages visit All the Saint's Books
, AND if you share about our new planner on your blog receive them free! Just let us know you shared, your email and blog address and we will send them off to you!

Some of them flew, some moved mountains, some walked on water, healed the sick, brought people back to live, all in imitation of our Divine Savior. My husband is starting a new blog series over on his All the Saints Blog
called Thaumaturgus Thursday
where he is sharing a sanity super hero's story! These are some of my favorite saints stories, real life super heroes for Christ!
Also over on his blog will be the new releases of our vintage Catholic reprints
, we finally have a home where we are happy to direct all our readers to the wonderful books that we have been blessed to share here on our blog! A blessed second Easter Monday to you all!
What is new here at Sanctus Simplicitus? We are busy working on the final details of the Holy Simplicity Planner
, Crusaders for Christ and Maidens for Mary planner
! They should be done in early May. Thank you to all of you who have already placed your pre-order. Today we updated some of the images on the children's planners to include the monthly planning page preview. Hop on over to All the Saint's books
to check those out.
We are so excited to have the new Children's planner design in the works! We thought we would give you a sneak peak at what the printed planners will look like this coming spring. If you haven't already seen the newest updates on the Holy Simplicity Planner take a gander over on our main Holy Simplicity Planner
The Maiden's for Mary Catholic Young Ladies Planner
features a different holy card of Our Blessed Mother, her symbols and various female Catholic Saints. With a new quote for every week on the top. Some very girly colors and lots of room for planning with space for 9 subjects, a daily checklist and virtue checklist. There will be some extra planning sheets as well for various things like a book log, report card etc.
Our Crusader's for Christ Young Gentlemen's Lesson Planner
is very 'manly' or rather young manly. With a nice parchment scroll at the top featuring the quote for the week. A picture of Crusader's wearing their knightly armor. And all the other lovely things contained in the Maiden's for Mary planner
as well. These brightly colored planners are sure to be a hit for any child in grades ranging from 3rd on up to 8th grade. Stay tuned, we should have more details soon!
So many of you offered such wonderful support last year in purchasing our Holy Simplicity Planner. We are excited to announce that we WILL be printing again this year! There are a few changes to the layout but we hope that you will enjoy them and that they will still continue to make planning your homeschool, house and liturgical seasons easier.
The 2013-2014 Holy Simplicity FULL-COLOR Planner features double page monthly layouts, making appointment setting and keeping track of feast days simple. There is also room on the side for notes both for tasks and devotions.
The double page weekly spread will look very familiar to all of those who purchased or downloaded a planner last year. We added some more space to the note section and made the meal planning section a bit larger. Also added is some beautiful Catholic artwork which is based on the theme in which the Church dedicates each month to. There is still room to plan 4 students lessons plus an additional 9th subject line verses the 8 from last year.
This year we will not be offering the Catholic Life book within the planner as we did last year. In its place we have designed some Liturgical season/feast day journaling pages that help to plan and/or record the happenings of your feast days and seasons. Plan your St. Valentine's day recipes, Christmas gift giving lists & space to write down devotions, Lenten season devotions and so forth. These pages are available for every major feast and every month of the year will have at least 1-2.
In the back of the planner you will find lesson planning pages, goal setting pages, forms that may be reproduced in order to track school attendance, grading etc. We hope that you will enjoy this years planner even more than last years! In addition we will also be offering PRINTED children's lesson planners. We will have more information on those as they get closer to completion. Please visit our Holy Simplicity Planner page
often for new details and make sure to sign up to receive email updates. Expected release day is May 2013. Previews of what the children's planners will look like may be found on our children's planner page
. God bless and may you have a most fruitful Lenten season!
Weekly Double Spread
Liturgical Season & Feast Day Journaling Pages
Our friends over at Crusader's for Christ
have shared yet another WONDERFUL article on feast day traditions, they sure have some good resources! We thought you might enjoy, below you will find a teaser of this wonderful information. Also we are adding some Journaling Pages to each of the liturgical seasons and major feast days. They are intended for adults so that they may plan their feast day and/or season and have a record for the following year. These will also be replacing the Liturgical articles in the Holy Simplicity planner
(due to be out in May!) So far we have Lent
& St. Patrick's Day
Journaling pages up with more to follow!- A Candle is Lighted, Imprimatur 1945 -
This day was a general holiday, particularly for apprentices, and it would have been strange if it had not frequently become a day into which people tried to cram all the pleasure they would soon have to forego.
In Norwich, as probably in other cities, processions were made to symbolize the rapid approach of Lent. In 1440, say the Norwich records, such a procession was instigated by a certain John Gladman, who was known "as a man ever trewe (true) and feythfilll (faithful) to God." Crowned as king of Christmas, his horse bedecked with gilt and every sort of finery and tinsel he was preceded in the procession by twelve other horsemen, each representing a month of the year and each dressed appropriately. Last in the procession, following after the glittering king of Christmas, came Lent, a horseman dressed from head to foot in white cloth and herring skins, mounted on a horse with trappings of oyster shells--and this "in token that sadnesse shulde folowe (sadness should follow), and a holy tyme (time)." Thus they rode through Norwich, and many others of the townspeople joined in, dressed in every sort of fantastic dress, all of them "making myrth, disportes and playes."
That they ate pancakes everywhere is merely because eggs and butter and milk had to be finished off before the fasting began, and the making of pancakes, the beating of the batter, the frying and tossing of the pancakes, could be a festive affair. To finish reading visit Crusader's for Christ

Our "little" project is growing! We continue to add to our Life of our Savior
and Life of the Soul pages
weekly. There are many, many coloring pages with many more to come. Next week we should have several coloring pages on Our Lord's passion and death with some on Easter to follow. We also added a coloring page for Ash Wednesday on our Lent page
. Make sure to check them all out and keep coming back to see what is new.
March and April's children's planner pages
are also up, including some exciting news to go with them! Starting in May we will be offering a printed planner for sale for both the Maiden's for Mary and Crusader's for Christ planners. That is in addition to the Holy Simplicity planner
in which we will start taking pre-orders for PRINTED VERSIONS! Those pre-orders are expected to start late April or early May. If you have suggestions for any of these planners, things you like, would like to see changed etc. Please leave us a comment at the bottom of this blog post. We are more than happy to accommodate where we can and make these planners easier to use and the most productive for students and teachers.
We pray that you are having a wonderful week and contemplating plans for the Lenten season.
I need to make a correction to the Liturgical Year Bulletin Board saints for January as well as the Holy Simplicity planner. The Feast of the Holy Family is a moveable feast and so we will provide an undated piece for the Liturgical Year Bulletin Board (date will be written in with dry erase marker) and a substitute piece for the current Jan. 8th piece.
The date is also incorrect in the Holy Simplicity Planner, it is noted there as on the 12th of this month when it should be on the 13th. My apologies for this error and we will put up another post when the new pieces are available. A blessed Octave of the Epiphany to you all!
"The Feast of the Holy Family is a greater-double and celebrated on the Sunday within the octave of the Epiphany. If this Sunday falls on the Octave Day, the feast is kept on the Saturday before, Jan 12, with the same commemoration of the Sunday and of the Octave."
