Story:
Saint Joseph lived on the earth a long time ago. He was a carpenter. A carpenter makes things out of wood - chairs, tables, bookcases, and many other things. Joseph was a very holy man. As he worked in his little carpenter shop he used to think about God. He thought about God's wonderful promise to send Someone Who would open Heaven again for everyone. "Oh, I wish He would come soon," Joseph used to say.
At last God was ready to send His Son, Jesus, down to live on earth. Then God had to have SOMETHING IMPORTANT done for Jesus, and He chose Saint Joseph to do it. An Angel came to tell Joseph what God wanted him to do. God wanted Joseph to be the one who would take care of Jesus and Mary, Jesus' Mother.
Saint Joseph was glad that God had chosen him. When Jesus came, Joseph watched over Jesus and His Mother Mary very carefully so that nothing would happen to them.
Saint Joseph is up in Heaven now. He has a very high place in Heaven, close to Jesus and the Blessed Mother. We should pray to Saint Joseph often. Ask him to take care of all the people we love, the way he took care of Jesus and Mary.
You took good care of Jesus and His Blessed Mother
when they were on earth.
Please take care of us, too.
Help us to love God the way you did.
